Welcome to the webpages of HARIG, the Harwich Amateur Radio Interest Group. HARIG is the radio club for people in and around the Harwich area in NE Essex on the east coast of the United Kingdom.


HARIG was formed in March 1990, and is affiliated to the RSGB.

Club Callsign: G0RGH

Contest callsigns used:
1997: M7U,
1998: M8U,
1999-2012: M4U

Club net: 8pm (local UK time) each Sunday, on 145.475 MHz.


QSL Policy: Please note that HARIG is a small club with limited resources and therefore cannot mass QSL via the Bureau. Direct QSLs via the Address on QRZ.com accompanied by the correct return postage and envelope will be honoured and logs will be uploaded to eQSL. No other QSLs will be undertaken.

The Harwich Amateur Radio Interest Group

General Information:

HARIG meets at the Park Pavilion, Barrack Lane, Harwich, Essex, CO12 3NS. UK on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. Meetings start formally at 8pm and visitors are always welcome.

The Year 2012 Programme of Meetings (next one in bold) includes:

  • 8 February: Talk by Ed M0HDK "Wartime tunnels"
  • 14 March: Hosting the Interclub Quiz with CRC and CRA
  • 11 April: "J6/G0DVJ" by Jonathan G0DVJ
  • 9 May: Visit by RSGB Deputy Regional Manager Norman Crampton
  • 13 June: Members evening ... "My other hobby"
  • 11 July: Scrapheap Challenge by Matt 2E0XIS and James M0ZZO

Details of the new 2012 HARIG Challenge are available. The winning club member will receive the TAG Award Trophy at the December 2012 AGM.
