CONSTABLE QUIZ LEAGUE 2005-06 SEASON. NOTES FOR TEAMS. These are just some short notes about stuff from the AGM that you may need, or want, to be reminded about. Chairman: (non-playing): Alastair McCraw. 07812 564188. alastair@amccraw.freeserve.co.uk Any queries can come to me first! Treasurer: (International Criminal Mastermind): Andrea Green. Question Setter: (Be nice now!): Terry Dadds . Results: (By the end of the Night please!) Jim Craddock & Lesley Broadbent. 01206 230703. Cradbent@btconnect.com Website: (Technical know-how) Iain Moffat. Important: For the first two or three weeks the results should come to me as i Jim & Lesley will be away! The Fixture List is fairly self explanatory. Im indebted to the Scheduling Expert of the last several years, Gary Dobson, who knocked i it up in no time! Weve lost two teams, The Kings Arms B and the Case A, which has caused this slight delay in getting back to you. As you know the subscription has been raised to £40 for this year. Its still only £10 per person for over 20 quizzes, or less than 50p a go! This includes £5 for each team towards the food for both the Christmas Charity Quiz (The two have been almagamated!) and the Knockout Final. We need everybody to come along to the Christmas Quiz this year and wed certainly like to see a Full turnout for the Finals Night! With 10 teams, I anticipate well have half the league in the Final so I cant see why the other half cant come along to cheer or boo (if you must!). The Charity/Christmas Quiz should be expected to raise a decent sum of money for this years nominated charity, whatever we may decide it to be. Last season we sent £93.64 to St Helena Hospice in Colchester, The year before a larger amount to the St Elizabeth Hospice in Ipswich. As the person who started this whole Charity Quiz business, I really think we should be able to do better than that. Figure £10 a team for Starters and we'll do some fund-raising from there! To continue to bang on about money. (Sorry but it has to be done!) The collection for the Question Setter was, frankly, embarrassing. Its a bugger of a job and it takes a hell of lot more time and effort than most people realise. Towards the end of the season, and well away from Charity Week, youll have the opportunity to express your thanks. Please take it properly! Results: Home Venues are responsible for reporting the results of fixtures to the league. You have three methods available. 1. Phone on the night. (Best time is just after the quiz is over). 2. E-mail on the night, when you get home! 3. Post the Card! Either 1 or 2 are required. 3 is also required. This way we can keep the scores updated and included in the following weeks envelopes! SO, the AGM decided that if any home side fails to notify the results, by any means, by the Tuesday following the fixture a 10 point penalty may be applied to that home teams score (once we find out what it was of course!). This is a discretionary penalty to be decided at the discretion of both the Chairman & the Results Secretary. Lets hope we never have to use it! On a happier note, Terry is well advanced with the questions and we have a whole new season to enjoy. Have a good time and enjoy yourselves, Alastair McCraw.
